Case study one - Jaine Sharp - London Landlord

1. What did you ask Gooderson London to do?

Trevor had done my general maintenance work for several years when I consulted him regarding the replacement and refurbishment of the kitchen area and refurbishment of communal areas in my 4 floor 8 bedroom multi-occupancy rental house in London.

He and his team had to work with the eight tenants in the house still using these areas and contend with giving constant updates to the residents as well as myself.  This meant leaving the house in a fit state to use at the end of every day.

2. What solutions / services did Gooderson London offer?

Trevor had the workforce needed for this renovation bringing in specialist contractors when required.  ie gas and electrical works. He also advised on suppliers and design for the kitchen units and white goods along with measuring estimating and ordering. He also accompanied me on several shopping trips to select flooring, bathroom fitments, furniture etc. to make sure they were suitable.

3. What did Gooderson London actually provide?

Trevor and his team removed the old kitchen units, appliances and flooring, and replaced with new and additional units, range cooker, dishwasher and second sink. The laminate flooring was replaced throughout the kitchen/living room and hallway. The entire area was redecorated with exposed trunking being hidden and damaged ceilings repaired.

The lower staircase showed signs of subsidence so he replaced the damaged woodwork to restore to safe standards.

The rest of the communal areas were fully redecorated with new door handles and locks on all doors to provide better security.  Communal bathrooms were updated with new cabinets, light fittings and fans and defects in flooring attended to.  He also ordered and fitted a new front door.

Trevor was my man on the spot when carpet fitters were on site to replace all carpets throughout the house assisting were necessary.

4. How did the project turn out?

Myself and my managing agents were delighted with the results being of very good standard and to budget. Trevor went the extra mile for mine and the tenant’s requirements without busting the budget or compromising workmanship.  It was a large project with very difficult working environment which was coped with minimal fuss.   

5. What comments could you make to underline the quality / value / problem solving / good service that he provided?

Trevor has an attention to detail and understanding of requirements.  He always responds to any maintenance issues I have at the house as quickly as possible and refurbishes individual rooms and bathrooms when required.  He has also been known to choose and purchase blinds, poles and pictures on my behalf for tenant’s rooms as well as collect and install new furnishings.

From my own experiences I can highly recommend Gooderson London.  I am single landlady with one large property, a fair distance from my home, so I greatly appreciate being able to discuss all house related issued with Trevor to find a solution which he can act on as quickly as possible.
